Energy Boosting Chocolate PB Protein Bites

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw & Unfiltered Honey. All opinions are 100% mine.

After less-than-stellar willpower in regards to avoiding my kids’ year-end treats + candy {I did not} and then Summer Vacation- my cravings were a bit out of control.

It happens, it’s called life. Instead of beating myself up about it, I immediately buckled down to get back on track for the summer. One of my favorite tricks for weaning myself off processed sugar is honey!

It is sweeter than processed sugar, so you don’t need to use as much. And unlike processed sugar, raw honey contains several B vitamins, as well as A, D, E, K vitamins, and antioxidants, so I am getting really important nutrients in as well. Honey- more importantly, raw honey- is low on the glycemic index, so it is a great energy source without the dreaded sugar crash.

This past week as I found myself starting to cave, I whipped up a batch of my favorite Chocolate PB Protein Bites, which are a staple in my home and I realized I have yet to share my recipe!

You will love them – they are packed with protein, honey, oats, peanut butter, chia seeds and just a little bit of dark chocolate! I love to grab a couple when I am done working out for a great post-workout snack to help my body to recover! They would also make an excellent pre-workout snack!

You can whip up a batch of these delicious protein bites in no time!

In a large bowl combine all your ingredients: PB, Protein Powder, Dark Chocolate Chips, Oats, Chia Seeds, Vanilla, and Nature Nate’s honey.

Mix with a spatula or heavy wooden spoon until well combined it will be a bit sticky and thick!

Use your hands to form the protein bites!

Once you have created all your delicious protein bites move pan to the fridge or freezer, depending on how fast you’d like them to set up. Once set up, remove from pan and place into an airtight container- keep refrigerated. >> Waiting for them to set up is THE hardest part!

When it comes to honey you have to choose a RAW, unfiltered version. Many store-bought honey brands are filled with high fructose corn syrup, fillers, and even pesticides! Scary, right?!? I really like  Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw & Unfiltered Honey”. Nature Nate’s does not include any unnecessary ingredients or fillers. #winning   Find Nature Nate’s at a store near you!

Did I mention you will love these?! But I do feel like I need to disclose a bit of a warning! These protein bites are HIGHLY addictive! So I like to portion mine out in little snack bags of 2-3 and then freeze them – it makes it super easy to grab them on the way to the gym for a quick and easy breakfast on the go! I also will throw them in my kids’ lunches as well.  Even my pickiest eater is a FAN!! I love that she totally snuck into the frame to grab one when I was trying to take this “professional” shot!

Love these so much! They are great to have on hand when you need a snack and you want to keep it healthier. I also like to use local honey to help combat allergies.
