The amazing benefits of journaling

· · · ·

I remember very vividly listening to the audiobook “Miracle Morning” on Audible and when it got to journaling portion completely losing all interest.

How was journaling really going to help me get ahead?

Really? Journaling?

When it came to journaling I pictured writing in a diary about what sometimes feels like a very mundane life. I’m pretty sure none of my future posterity wants to read about my day, sitting at a computer, creating pinnable images, balancing my checkbook and brainstorming blog post ideas. Although it’s exciting to me, I highly doubt this will be page-turner stuff.

But then I sat on the idea and came to realize journaling actually is for me. It‘s a way for me to put into words what I envision and hope for my life. It’s part of my manifesting process. There are also so many amazing benefits of journaling to enjoy.

So if you were to read my journals they would not be filled with what my days were made up of, they are filled with my hopes and dreams and what I want my life to look like.

It’s kind of a different twist to write about things you do not already have or have not experienced. But our minds are powerful creators and by penning our ideas and dreams onto paper they move a little closer to becoming reality.

With pen and paper, miracles can happen in your life, the benefits of journaling are exponential and can take your manifesting to new levels.

Ever since I started journaling I have seen big shifts and changes in my life. Opportunities have shown up for me. My revenue has increased exponentially over the year and a half since I picked up this little hobby of mine.

I can honestly say that I have become more of the woman I have strived for years to become. This is just one part of my daily routine that has helped me to completely transform my life. I will share my other daily MUST habits in other posts, but journaling is a great place to start.

My rules when it comes to journaling:

Just start! – Sometimes we can get stuck waiting. We’re waiting for instructions or waiting to get that cute journal we saw at Target. Stop the waiting and just start! I personally use a 25 cent wide ruled spiral notebook. They are crazy cheap when it’s back-to-school season so I’ll stock up. But really, they are reasonable any time of year. Because it’s ugly I don’t care if my words are neat and beautiful – I just write! Sometimes my penmanship is great, other times its borderline illegible. But every day I bust out my spiral notebook and write.

Fill a Page – Every day I start by writing the date at the top of the page and then I list my intentions for the day. My statements start with Today I Will ______. This helps me get clear on the energy I want to feel that day. Some examples of this would be Today I will be present. Today I will find ways to serve others. Today I will give joyfully. (Just a couple ideas to get your juices flowing.)

Then I write about what I want my life to look like. I write about the income goals I am focusing on reaching. I also write how I will feel when I reach those goals I have set for myself. Adding emotions is super powerful. I write about how I will feel when we are completely free of debt. I write about how I will feel when we are sitting on the beach enjoying an exciting family vacation. Get real visual and emotional about your goals because the more you can make them feel real the more powerful they are.

Then for the last paragraph, I write out my I Am statements. I Am statements are magical all by themselves. It’s as simple as I am _____. (fill in the blank).

I am awesome.

I am smart.

I am kind.

I am an amazing mother.

I am connected to the needs of my children.

I am attracting amazing opportunities.

I am experiencing money coming in easily.

You get the idea. Just focus on areas where you need reassurance. Do I always feel smart, absolutely not! But the more I write it down the more I begin to believe it and accept it as truth.

No Negative Words Allowed – We all have the mean inner self that wants to sit there and tell us all day long how unworthy or not enough we are. Before I start, I do my best to tell her to shut up. During my journaling time, I focus on the things I love about myself and how I believe in myself and what I am capable of becoming. If Negative Nelly starts to chime in, I shut her down real quick, take a deep breath and get back to focusing on building the person I know God sees and wants me to become.

With pen and paper, miracles can happen in your life, the benefits of journaling are exponential and can take your manifesting to new levels.

Write From Your Heart – This is not the time for overthinking or second-guessing yourself. Just pick up your pen and let the words flow as they will. Sometimes I have gotten done with a whole page and I go back and reread the page and I can see that those words were not mine. But it was inspiration and revelation that I needed to see and feel that morning. So let go and let your soul guide you as you write. This will become easier as you allow your mind to shut off and your heart to open.

On top of this journal I keep a couple others as well and thought I would share these ideas with you.

With pen and paper, miracles can happen in your life, the benefits of journaling are exponential and can take your manifesting to new levels.

I Am Grateful For My Spouse Journal

I keep a gratitude journal for my husband, Kelly. Every day I write something about him or something that he did for me that I am grateful for. It helps me to remember all the amazing things he does for me and what an amazing man he is! Ladies and gents it’s real easy to take our spouses for granted but this simple practice has helped me to be mindful of how very lucky I am. And when my journal is full it will make a great gift so he knows how much I love and appreciate Him.

Miracles Journal

If you are struggling with finding a connection with God in your life, this journal is for you. Or if you want to focus more on seeing His light in your life this is an amazing tool that has deeply blessed my life. Every night before I go to bed I think back on my day and remember the smal and sometimes large miracles that showed up for me that day. Those little blessings that seem almost coincidental are the small but powerful ways God shows his love to you and I every day.

I hope you found this post useful, I can honestly say journaling has changed my life and allowed me to manifest at a higher level and to become more at peace with who I am.
