Understanding Who You Are Via Astrology

·

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with Astrology. I remember being in Junior High and immediately turning to the Horoscopes sections in my favorite magazines. The fact that they all seemed fairly accurate only heightened my interest and intrigue. As I read about what it means to be a Cancer, it all felt, for the most part, crazy, insightful, and accurate. So, my love affair ensued.

As I got older, I started to feel guilty and ashamed about my love affair with astrology, passing it off as a childish whim. I graduated High School, went off to school, and started working full-time, learning quickly that my intellect was often more favored and rewarded than my intuition. So, for a long time, I distanced myself from something that had once given me immense joy.

For those of you who have followed my blog for a very long time, the emphasis has been on health and wellness from its inception, another love of mine. However, since 2020, my interests have been solely on understanding myself on a soul level, and Astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, and The Tarot have become my new besties for understanding myself and helping hundreds of my clients to better understand themselves, too!

I am truly excited to share more of this amazing information with you on the blog and via my social media channels. Although I have been in this “world” for the last four years, I haven’t shared too much of it here on the blog, but that is about to change. I am rebranding the site and giving it a bit of a makeover so that we can now chat about all my favorite things and, of course, how they tie into your health and well-being as well.

Beyond Your Astrology Sun Sign – Meet The Planets

If you’re new to Astrology, you are probably mostly familiar with your sun sign. This truly only tells a small part of your story. Yes, you will feel personally victimized by the memes and TikToks directed at your sun sign, but you, my friend, are way more complex and interesting than that!

Our sun sign gives us key insight into our overall personality and how we interact with the world. So, there is a reason why your sun sign resonates. But let’s break down the other key factors you will want to know more about.

  • Rising Sign (Ascendant): Your Rising sign reflects how you present yourself to the world, your outward behavior, and the first impression you make on others. (People will often mistake you at first for your rising sign. It’s the vibe you give off when first meeting people)
  • Moon Sign: Your Moon sign reveals your emotional nature, inner feelings, and subconscious reactions, offering insight into your deepest needs and how you choose to nurture yourself and others.
  • Mercury Sign: Your Mercury sign governs your communication style, thinking patterns, and how you process and share information, influencing your intellect, speech, and decision-making style.
  • Venus Sign: Your Venus sign reflects your approach to love, relationships, beauty, and values, influencing how you attract and express affection, as well as your preferences in art and pleasure.
  • Mars Sign: Your Mars Sign governs your drive, energy, and assertiveness. It also influences your approach to challenges, desires, and physical activity, as well as your expression of anger and passion.
  • Jupiter Sign: Your Jupiter sign influences your beliefs, growth, and sense of optimism, reflecting how you seek expansion, opportunities, and wisdom within your life.
  • Saturn Sign: Your Saturn sign governs discipline, responsibility, and the lessons you need to learn, shaping your approach to challenges, limitations, and long-term goals.
  • Uranus Sign: Your Uranus Sign influences your sense of individuality, innovation, and desire for change. It reflects how you approach rebellion, unconventional ideas, and the pursuit of freedom—”Your Maverick Energy,” if you will.
  • Neptune Sign: Your Neptune Sign governs your dreams, intuition, and spiritual ideals, influencing your imagination, creativity, and how you connect with the mystical and unseen aspects of life.
  • Pluto Sign: Your Pluto Sign governs your transformation, power, and deep psychological change, reflecting how you navigate rebirth, personal growth, and the exploration of hidden or taboo aspects of life.
  • Chiron Sign: Your Chiron Sign, often referred to as the “Wounded Warrior,” signifies your deepest wounds and the areas where you may experience healing. It reveals where you have the potential to transform pain into wisdom and guide others through similar challenges.
  • North Node: Your North Node Position represents your karmic path and life’s purpose, indicating the qualities and experiences you are meant to develop and embrace in this lifetime. It points to the areas where growth and evolution are most beneficial, guiding you toward your soul’s higher calling.
  • South Node: Your South Node Position represents your past life experiences and inherent talents, reflecting the qualities and patterns that come naturally to you. It indicates where you may feel comfortable or stuck, serving as a reminder to balance these traits with the growth-oriented lessons of the North Node.

All of these components combine to create a bigger picture of who you were designed to be and what lessons and challenges you may encounter throughout your lifetime. I often refer to Human Design ( also closely tied to Astrology) as your Owner’s Manual and Astrology as your road map. Human Design helps you understand your energy and how you function best, while astrology, as I mentioned before, gives you more about what you might encounter on your trip here on Earth.

How Do I Run My Birth Chart

To discover all these juicy tidbits about yourself, you will need to run a natal birth chart. You can do this by going to Astro.com, clicking on the charts and calculations button, then the extended chart option. Make sure that you switch to the whole sign option. This is the type of chart I find most accurate. You will need an accurate birth time. If you do not know your birth time, you will need to order a birth certificate, several states do not include the birth time on duplicate requests, so you will need to ask for a “book copy” or chat with your state’s or country’s vital records department as to what their policy is. Some Hospitals keep records, so that is another place you can check. Some astrologists do offer a birth chart reconciliation based on major events in your life, these can get pricy, so hopefully, the first two options work for you.

How Real Is Astrology?

I get this question a lot, and I get it! Astrology seems a little woo-woo and out there. But what I can tell you after reading Astrology charts for hundreds of lovely souls, for me the proof is in the pudding. Each and every one of my clients FEELS and RESONATES so deeply with the information uncovered throughout their reading. But at the end of the day, we live in a world of free will, and if something does not resonate with you, you don’t have to pick it up. For example, Cancerians are often referred to as moody. I do not identify with that aspect at all, so I don’t pick it up; I don’t let that define who I am.

If you’re interested in booking an Astrology reading with me, I would be honored!

Much Love,
